Thegated serial (A and B) inputs permit complete controlover incoming data; a low at either input inhibits entryof the new data and resets the first flip-flop to the lowlevel at the next clock (CLK) pulse. A high-level inputenables the other input, which then determines thestate of the first flip-flop. Data at the serial inputs canbe changed while CLK is high or low, provided theminimum set-up time requirements are met.
