Megasquirt-3 with pcb v3.0 kit

History

The Megasquirt’s predecessor was the EFI332 project, led by Bruce Bowling and Al Grippo. EFI332 development started around 1999 and culminated in the release of about 200 kits in 2000. The system used a 32-bit MC68332 microcontroller from Motorola. A very steep coding, electronic design, and tuning curve prevented the system from gaining wider acceptance.

The designers then decided to simplify the EFI332 design, and focus on managing the fuel injectors (the EFI332 was also designed to control the spark plug ignition system if so desired). This was the basis for the first MegaSquirt (MS-I).

The MegaSquirt was launched on September 15th 2001.

Description

MegaSquirt MS3X Wiring Bundle – Length = 8′

  • 8′ of TXL High temp automotive grade wire.
  • Color coded wiring with labeling printed on the wire every 6 inches — no paper tags here!
  • Use with MS3X Expansion board or other sequential device

Just like the MS3X harness, but with no DB37 connector. We’ve custom printed these to include all the inputs and outputs on the expansion board. Use for making your own wiring harnesses, or for wiring up non-MegaSquirt systems as well. Includes wiring for sequential injection, sequential coil on plug, nitrous, boost control, and more.

Just like a short run of the MS3X harness, but with no DB37 connector.  We envisioned this being used to build short harness adapters to join your MS ECU to your stock wiring harness, either directly to the wiring (cut off the stock EC connector) or through the use of a DIYBOB or other means of adapting an OEM connector to build a short patch harness to allow you to plug your MS ECU right into your factory wiring.

We’ve custom printed these to include all the inputs and outputs on the expansion board. Use for making your own wiring harnesses, or for wiring up non-MegaSquirt systems as well. Includes wiring for sequential injection, sequential coil on plug, nitrous, boost control, and more.

Included is a MegaSquirt-III Engine Management System w/PCB3.0 – Unassembled Kit Part # MS330-K

This MS330-K_BL kit includes everything you will need to build your MegaSquirt-3. The genuine B&G partial kit with V3.0 PCB, everything in the standard Bill Of Materials, the MS3 daughter board kit, the case, pre-machined endplates and heatsink bar, even the tube of heatsink compound and a bit of jumper wire is included. All you add is tools, solder, and time! The MS3X Xpander board is sold separately and allows you to fully take advantage of the MegaSquirt-3, including 8-cylinder sequential injection, 8 ignition outputs allowing 8-cylinder coil on plug, nitrous control, and more. Add a tuning cable to your order if you don’t have one already. 

The BIP373 coil driver is sold separately and is only required for direct coil control. If you are using “smart” coils with internal or ignition modules or “dumb” coils with external ignition modules, you do not need any BIP373 drivers.  You only need BIP373 if you have a dumb coil and do not have an ignition module.  

MS330-K Kit Bill Of Materials (BOM) Includes:
